“Misha, darling, how are you today?” John asked, sounding sexy through the phone line.

‘I’m pissed off and really don’t want to be talking to your old ass,’ is what she was thinking.

“I’m good, John; how about yourself?”

“Well, I would be better if you would go out and catch a movie with me.”

“No, I not in the mood for a movie. I had a long day at work,” she lied, rolling her eyes.

“Come on, Misha, it’s just a movie; besides, you said you would spend some time with me. I’m not asking you to make love to me, though I would love for that to happen soon, and I’m already here.”

“You’re already WHERE?” She raised her voice a little bit and got up off the couch to go look out the window; sure enough, his car was parked in her visitor’s parking space.

“I wanted to see you, and I thought, if I came over before calling, I’d have a better chance.”

“No, that doesn’t give you a better chance, and I’d appreciate it if you don’t ever do that again.”

“Listen, Misha, just let me take you out. I don’t want to spend tonight alone. It’s just a movie and it might help you feel better. I thought I heard you say you wanted to see Beyond the Lights?”

Misha took a deep breath and pulled her ponytail holder out of her hair; it fell loose on her shoulders. After giving it some thought, she wouldn’t mind going to the movies. She really did want to see that movie anyway; she just wished she didn’t have to see it with him. ‘I might as well get this day over with,’ she thought. ‘Maybe hanging out isn’t a bad idea; at least I won’t be sitting at home, lonely.’

“I’m going to go with you this time, but please don’t ever come to my house again without calling first. Let me grab my Snuggie blanket; it gets really cold in there. Which one are we going to?”

“The new one, Studio Grill inside University Mall.”

“Okay; I’ll be out in a second.”

She ended the call and threw the phone on the couch. Misha was already dressed. She’d had plans to go hang out at Club Sky for happy hour by herself since Isis was not answering her phone. Misha put on her knee-high red boots and zipped them up on the side. She shook her hair out in the mirror and put on her perfume. She grabbed her Snuggie, keys, and phone then left the house.

John watched Misha lock her door and make her way to his car. He loved that she was confident and comfortable with her size; as he’d gotten older, bigger women seemed to turn him on. She didn’t mind wearing short dresses or long, but if there was one thing he could change about her, it would be some of the things she wore. Sometimes it was over the top and too provocative for him.

“Hey, sweetie, you look juicer and juicer every time I see you.
